The Roots Garden at Fisher Park in the Olney neighborhood of Philadelphia has been a hidden gem of a green sanctuary that residents and community members have nurtured for almost three decades. The garden has reflected and continues to reflect the ever-evolving dynamics of the neighborhood in all its complicated richness and diversity. 

Under the auspices of Scribe Video Center’s Precious Places program, Olney Culture Lab set out to share the story of the Roots Garden through this short documentary film, how it emerged and how it has sustained itself through the ups and downs of its history.
