The 500 block of West Chew Avenue will be transformed into the 7th annual Olney Youth Arts Festival, a multicultural celebration of youth creativity with a distinct focus on dance and movement. The event is designed to highlight different ethnic expressions towards cross-cultural awareness and to showcase the strength of various arts programs serving the children and youth in Philadelphia’s neighborhoods.

The vast array of dance featured will include: breaking, hip hop, salsa, capoeira, ballet, modern, praise, among others.  The Festival will also feature guest youth poets including newly-minted City of Philadelphia’s Youth Poet Laureate, Mia Concepcion.

The Olney Youth Arts Festival is a project of Olney Culture Lab of CultureTrust Greater Philadelphia.

The event is sponsored by Councilwoman Cherelle Parker, PECO, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Collins Shop Rite, Einstein Healthcare Network, Health Partners Plans, Community College of Philadelphia, St. Helena-Incarnation Catholic School, Keystone First, North 5thStreet Revitalization Project, and T-House Print.
