Olney Culture Lab, of CultureTrust Greater Philadelphia honors the lives, history, land and legacy of the Lenape/Lenni Lenape/Delaware People. The work of Olney Culture Lab takes place upon the sacred lands and historical territory of these indigenous people of the Northeastern Woodlands. We honor them as the “original people” of these traditional lands, which the Lenape call the “Lenapehoking.” We acknowledge the rivers, streams, waterways and hunting grounds for sustaining them. We pay homage to their Mothers, families, clans and ancestors. We recognize and express our gratitude for the relationship between the lives and work of those currently living and working in the Olney community of Philadelphia, and the lives, land, work and contributions of the indigenous people of this territory. We honor their traditions as peacekeepers, peacemakers and respected warriors; and we express our sorrow for their forceable removal from these lands. May our efforts bring honor to these lands.
