introducing the espinosa family

The Espinosa Family are led by the husband and wife team of Hector and Gwen. They met as youth through church in the 1990s.

Whether it is their marriage, family or community, Gwen and Hector’s belief in serving people is abundant in their lives.

Upon settling in Olney in 2016, Tacony Creek Park became a source of solace for Gwen as her peaceful, prayerful walks availed her to the wonders of this green space near her home.

Eventually this led her to become a Tacony Creek Park keeper.

In turn, she has inspired Hector and her four children (Zayah, Dorian, Tristan and Brielle) to follow in her footsteps as fellow park explorers and caretakers.

Tacony Creek Park would reciprocate their involvement by becoming a source of self-discovery, a place of creative inspiration and a balm of healing from life’s challenges; further strengthening their own bonds with each other and with their neighborhood.

“What excites me is the fact that there’s people in the community that care and are pushing to make the park better. When I go on walks, I’ll see people that I met at some of the TTF functions and it builds community.
