In looking back at 2019, Olney Culture Lab continues to grow and touch more lives with our events, programs and engagements.

There were countless performances that wonderfully occupied space and time in greater Olney, bringing audiences joy and inspiration.

Here are a few samples of those moments:

This year Olney Culture Lab also forayed into the visual culture of our community by providing opportunities for people to share their photographic images or to be captured in photography. Both instances allowed subjects to be seen in a more evocative light.

We continue to expand our roster of fruitful partnerships, adding Public Health Management Corporation and the Olney Recreation Center Rebuild Project to our already strong alliances with North 5th Street Revitalization Project, Fisher Park Alliance, Councilwoman Cherelle Parker’s Office, Tookany/Tacony-Frankford Watershed Partnership, and Trust for Public Land.

Lastly, we are thrilled to announce that the William Penn Foundation will be the lead supporter of our most ambitious project yet – The Olney Embrace Project! This year-long project in 2020 will permeate the Olney neighborhood with meaningful artistic engagement by some of Philadelphia’s most distinguished creative professionals. More details to come, so sign up for updates as we embark on this amazing journey together!
